Eddy White was born in the English coastal town of Eastbourne in 1986, relocating to
Southampton at the age of three. He is now based in London. He took up music in 1996,
originally starting with the piano. Eddy ended up playing in many bands around the age of
15, notably the Hampshire Youth Jazz Orchestra. It was around this time that he started to
develop an interest in jazz, and nowadays his musical stylings and influences are broad
and diverse. At the age of 16, he gained his Grade 8 on guitar, and received the Morley-
Scott Musician Of The Year award a few months later. In 2009, Eddy graduated from the
University of Southampton with a BA (Hons) degree in Music, an institution he would later
teach at as a jazz guitar specialist.
From mid-August 2010 to early January 2011, Eddy was working primarily in the USA on
board The Sapphire Princess cruise liner (Princess Cruises), which toured the US
(including Alaska and Hawaii), Canada, French Polynesia, The Samoan Islands, Fiji,
Mexico, Australia and New Zealand. From late February until mid-June 2011, he worked on
board the Emerald Princess touring the Caribbean and Europe. His later cruise ship work
was on board the illustrious Queen Victoria (Cunard), performing for 5 weeks with the
Royal Court Theatre Orchestra (November until December 2014).
From January 2013 to September 2014, Eddy was the guitarist for the theatre tour of New
Jersey Nights; performing all over the UK in high-end theatres to sell-out audiences. Acclaimed theatre producer David King devised the show.
From March 2016 to the present, Eddy has been involved toured Germany and Austria, performing in the hit show
Sinatra and Friends. He has also performed in the show Ultimate Bublé.
Eddy was the guitarist for US country and pop singer-songwriter, Jenn Bostic, for her 2018
UK tour.
Eddy realised his debut album Woven Skies with his project, The Eddy White Sextet,
featuring some of the top jazz musicians the UK has to offer. His record features all
original compositions, of eclectic and diverse stylings. Eddy also
performs with the esteemed acid-jazz band the James Taylor Quartet, both across the UK and internationally.
In December 2023, Eddy performed with the Buddy Rich Big Band at Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, featuring Buddy's daughter Cathy Rich, Gregg Potter and special guest drummer Ian Paice (Deep Purple).

Eddy is a great inventive player. He’s studied the guitarists who complement our sound and he tears into the tunes with style and passion. The audience loves him.
James Taylor, the James Taylor Quartet
Eddy White is an unbelievable guitarist. As an artist that performs a variety of genres, I needed to find someone who could play Blues, Pop, Jazz, Soul and Country. He plays with both passion and excellence. The best guitarist I’ve worked with in the UK.
Jenn Bostic
Eddie has been a real asset to the band. He is an excellent jazz player but also knows how to play all the other styles of music required. A job well done.
Chuck Farmer, Music Manager on board the Emerald Princess

Eddy has been teaching our son Ryan for over a year now. Ryan is 12 and thoroughly enjoys his lessons with Eddy, who really inspires him to push himself further in his music. Ryan started with Eddy learning popular and rock music, but as Ryan has moved into senior school and has joined the jazz and trad orchestra, Ryan has truly benefited from Eddy's jazz guitar specialism. Eddy is a brilliant teacher and would highly recommend him to anyone (young or old) who wants to push their music further.

His unassuming personality and professionalism are rare characteristics from such an
exceptional player. We have lists of players for all chairs and ones considered the go-to
players in the industry, but he has become our luxury item. Always happy to hear him play,
always happy to hire him!

Southampton Modern Jazz Club puts on live jazz every Sunday, and Eddy is regularly involved.
From the age of 17, and up until 20, Eddy encountered difficulties with repetitive strain injury (RSI), supposedly from playing the guitar. After exhausting my options with all standard treatments, he discovered this book, and has been pain free since August 2006.
My album digipak printing, Woven Skies, was manufactured by Disc Wizards.
This is my debut album, released in October 2019.
