Eddy White was born in the English coastal town of Eastbourne in 1986, relocating to Southampton at the age of three.  He is now based in London.  He took up music in 1996, originally starting with the piano.  However, with a developing interest in rock music of the '70s such as Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple, he switched to guitar a year later.  At this time, Eddy was influenced by guitarists such as Jimmy Page, Slash and Steve Vai.  He was very keen and enthusiastic about playing, practising some six hours a day when he was in his early teens.  Eddy ended up playing in many bands around the age of 15, notably the Hampshire Youth Jazz Orchestra.  It was around this time that he started to develop an interest in jazz, and nowadays his musical stylings and influences are broad and diverse.  At the age of 16, he gained his Grade 8 on guitar, and received the Morley-Scott 'Musician Of The Year' award a few months later.  In 2009, Eddy graduated from the University of Southampton with a BA (Hons) degree in Music.

From mid-August 2010 to early January 2011, Eddy was working primarily in the USA on board The Sapphire Princess cruise liner (Princess Cruises), which toured the US (including Alaska and Hawaii), Canada, French Polynesia, The Samoan Islands, Fiji, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand.  In late February until mid-June 2011, he worked on board the Emerald Princess touring the Caribbean and Europe.  His latest cruise ship work was on board the illustrious Queen Victoria (Cunard), performing for 5 weeks with the Royal Court Theatre Orchestra (November until December 2014).

From January 2013 to September 2014, Eddy was the guitarist for the theatre tour of 'New Jersey Nights,' performing all over the UK in high-end theatres to sell-out audiences.  The show was devised by acclaimed theatre producer David King.

In March 2016, Eddy toured Germany for 16 days, performing in the show 'Sinatra & Friends.'

As of late, Eddy can be seen performing regularly with the 80s tribute band 'Great Scott,' which also doubles as the regular function band 'Great Scott Classic,' performing music from multiple eras.  This can be further transformed into 'Great Scott Vintage,' showcasing classic pop songs in a style somewhat akin to Mumford and Sons (Eddy plays banjo in this outfit). He is also regularly involved with the band Mister Kanish.  The highlight of performing in the latter band came when he performed live with group on French TV, for the show 'The Cover.'  The band competed against 11 other acts, and was voted the best by the French public.  Click here to see the performance.

Eddy is involved with jazz projects, both in London and Southampton  He leads in his own jazz ensemble by the name of The Eddy White Sextet, which features top musicians from the Southampton and London scene; this band has provided a vehicle for his own jazz compositions, along with famous tunes of the '60s Blue Note era.

Eddy is available for an assortment of musicial projects, including live performance, session work, composition, transcription and arranging.  He is also well versed on electric bass.

Eddie has been a real asset to the band. He is an excellent jazz player but also knows how to play all the other styles of music required. A job well done.

Eddy has been teaching our son Ryan for over a year now. Ryan is 12 and thoroughly enjoys his lessons with Eddy, who really inspires him to push himself further in his music. Ryan started with Eddy learning popular and rock music, but as Ryan has moved into senior school and has joined the jazz and trad orchestra, Ryan has truly benefited from Eddy's jazz guitar specialism. Eddy is a brilliant teacher and would highly recommend him to anyone (young or old) who wants to push their music further.
